Current Projects

General Paediatric Surgery (GPS) Project

This project is hosted by Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trist.  PiP supports the work of the project and there are strong links with the Paediatric Anaesthetic Network hosted by PiP.

The Clinical Leads are Mr Oli Gee (BWC) and Mr Doug Bowley (UHB), the Clinical Network Develpment Co-ordinator is Juliet Brown.

The overall aim is to develop a networked solution to ensure that a high quality and sustainable General Paediatric Surgery (GPS) service can be delivered across the West Midlands (and geographical boundaries as appropriate).

Engagement of Children and Young People

The Children and Young People’s Health Outcome Forum report made it clear that children, young people and their families should be included in any decisions about delivery and development of the care they receive.  This was recognised by the PiP Board and at the 2013 Annual Conference.
